Flagship Homes will be sponsoring the North Walsham Vikings’ Schools programme. This programme, which focuses on students in years 7, 8 and 9, provides opportunities to experience rugby and foster the positive values that come with being part of a team, and comprises high schools in Aylsham High School, Broadland High Ormiston Academy, Cromer Academy, Flegg High Ormiston Academy, North Walsham High School, and Stalham High School.
Rugby Operations Director Seb Anthony said: “Flagship Homes’ commitment to the Vikings Schools Programme is a game-changer. This partnership allows us to continue to enhance the rugby experience for these pupils, fostering not just athletic skills, but also essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and respect. We are excited about the positive impact this collaboration will have on the development of the next generation of players.”
The Vikings programme focuses on instilling teamwork, discipline, and a passion for fair play among its participants. With the support of Flagship Homes, the programme is set to expand its reach and impact, creating a lasting legacy for the community.
Tony Tann, Managing Director of Flagship Homes said “At Flagship Homes, we believe in investing in the communities where we build. Supporting North Walsham Rugby Club’s Vikings programme aligns with our purpose of providing homes and creating sustainable communities. It also offers us the chance of promoting active and healthy lifestyles among young people. We are thrilled to contribute to the growth and well-being of young people, and we look forward to a positive partnership.”
North Walsham’s Schools Programme has grown significantly since it began seven years ago. In 2022/23, including its longstanding partnership with the Wensum Trust, the club worked with 12 high schools and 19 primary schools providing coaching for almost 3,000 students.
The sponsorship from Flagship Homes will support the purchase of equipment and coaching resources and, potentially, the extension of the programme to reach even more local schools. This collaboration exemplifies Flagship Homes’ commitment to community engagement and enriching the lives of those in the regions they serve.
Lovell, who work in partnership with Flagship Homes across Norfolk, is to sponsor the first XV at North Walsham Rugby Football Club.
